Raisin Pulao

Description:An aromatic pulao using raisins.
Preparation Time:25 mins


Basmathi Rice – 1 cup
Raisins – 50gms
Onion – 1 small(finely sliced)
Cashewnuts – 50 gms
Garam Masala powder – &#frac12; teaspoon
Turmeric powder – &#frac14; teaspoon
BayLeaves – 2
Ghee – 3 tablespoons
Salt to taste


1.Cook the rice with 1 cup of water. Cool and fluff it with a fork. so that the grains are separated.
2.Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the cashewnuts and raisins and keep aside.
3.In the same ghee add the bay leaves and onion and fry till the onions are golden brown.
4.Add turmeric powder,garammasala powder,salt,raisins and the rice. Mix gently and leave it on a slow flame for a few minutes.
5.Remove from the fire and garnish with cashewnuts.
